Pause. Meditation Series on Presence

Learn how to build a meditation practice that works for you by using ancient tools rooted in the ISHTA Lineage and adapted for modern life.

This series will focus on presence and the many different ways we can find it. We will use the breath, body, mind, awareness of sound and foundational kriyas to explore what it feels like to truly be present.

We will use our senses to move beyond the senses to tap into an expanded state of consciousness that is always available to us.

We will explore different techniques and kriya meditations, which bring together breath, visualization and mantra-silent or chanted, to help train the mind and focus inward. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, you’ll learn a repeatable system that can be adapted to what you need each time you show up to practice. Kriya meditation is a practice that brings together the breath, visualization and mantra (silent or chanted).

Each class includes:

  • Gentle tension release to prepare for meditation

  • Guided practice that leads to 18 minutes of supported silence

  • Mantra, breathwork, mudra, and other meditation techniques

  • Chairs and props as needed—no floor sitting or quiet mind required, modifications always available

  • Time for questions, grounding, and brief savasana

All levels are welcome, whether you’re sitting for the first time or looking for new ways to deepen an established practice.

Bridgette Shaw is a Senior Teacher and Sisya Yogini in the ISHTA lineage with 30 years of practice and 25 years of teaching experience. After struggling to establish a meditation practice herself, before finding this system, she is now passionate about sharing it with others to help them create and personalize a practice that works for them.

GROUNDING MANTRAS

Below are the mantras we use to close our meditations in a practice called artha vatva samyama. This is grounding with intention to bring the wisdom from our practice, into our life using mantra and mudra (hand gestures).

In our Morning Meds practice, I simply bring our awareness down the body as I speak them each once, but in longer meditation practices we chant them together as they are chanted below. Both versions can be downloaded.
